KCR slams PM Modi, says except 'dialogues' and 'wearing turban', he delivered nothing in Independence Day speech

Kolkata: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday (Aug 16, 2022) came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the latter had nothing more to say than giving "dialogues" in his Independence Day speech and displaying a long turban around his head. Addressing a public meeting here, Rao, popularly known as KCR, lambasted the Prime Minister for his comments on free, saying that no state in the country was implementing welfare measures in Telangana.

I was also listening to the Prime Minister's speech yesterday. Anyway, they did nothing for eight years, I thought they would do something for the other two years. The entire one-hour speech consisted of nothing but dialogues and headscarves, costumes. No new projects have been announced. Not even a word about the welfare of the country,” alleged the Telangana Chief Minister.

Attacking Modi, Rao alleged that the Center is forcing states to fix meters for pump sets and import coal despite products being available in India at lower prices.

Referring to some BJP workers who tried to protest when the CM's convoy passed by, he said the people of Bikarabad should question these saffron party workers as to what Modi had done in the last eight years of rule.

"I am asking the Prime Minister what have you done in the last eight years? Farmers? Women? Tribals? Muslims and Dalits? Which section has benefited? None. Moreover, when state governments are implementing some welfare. Schemes, these are called free. And should stop," Rao charged.
